National Mall at Night

The metro station closest to our home is about 5 miles away. It is the Huntington Metro Station, which also happens to be at the end of the yellow line. One day while we were waiting for the train to arrive we saw deer just eating a little snack - within steps from the beltway. We see deer all the time, including in our own back yard.
I love, love, love the National Mall. In September on Friday nights, Tuf and Anthony would meet me after work and we would walk around the mall. We actually tried to go to the White House 3 different Friday nights in a row because the first 2 times were when the White House jumpers jumped the fence. On the third time Anthony finally saw the White House. Also in the summer and early fall is the best way to see the monuments is at night, it is less crowded and even better it is not as hot. I love walking the mall at night!
The Washington Monument is my favorite monument in DC. It's just so photogenic!

I live here! In this city! I work 10 minutes from the mall - so amazing!!!!!

It is so cool that you live so close to all of these neat monuments. They are interesting to see in every season, and as a local you get to see them during the best times! I'm waiting to hear about a crazy lady setting up camp at the base of the Washington Monument just so she can stare at it all day. Can you fit a wedding ring on the monument?
