Becky, Julie, Barb & Robyn!!!

On Sunday morning at 5am, Julie and I took Becky to the Huntington Metro so she could go to the Pentagon to start her marathon. Julie and I went back to bed for a couple hours. I than went back to Huntington at 8am and got Barb and Robyn. Barb and Robyn came back to our house for breakfast and then we all went to Mount Vernon. This would be my third time going to Mount Vernon, but my first time going through the house since 2008. They move you through the house very quickly so here are some photos from the outside where you go at your own pace.
George and Martha Washington's eternal resting places.
There is a memorial for all the slaves that worked at Mount Vernon.

Mount Vernon is so beautiful!
Inside the 16 sided barn.
This also happened to be Fall Harvest Days at Mount Vernon, so we were able to walk around and see the different attractions.
Folk music.
Barb and Robyn separating sheep's wool.
This lady talked to Barb about all things knitting - Barb was in heaven!
Julie and Barb with a sheep - pretty common at Mount Vernon.
Robyn, being Robyn :)
Barb and Robyn stayed at Mount Vernon to do a cruise on the Potomac and Julie and I headed back to the metro to go to the Roslyn stop to see Becky cross the finish line. The Marine Corp Marathon is huge! Like some 30,000 people register! We got to the finish line, but we didn't see Becky cross :( However, we did meet up with her at the end! She is such a super star!
Becky said she needed to walk after the race to keep her muscles lose - so we were going to walk to the Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station rather than fight the crowds at Rosslyn. Yeah, because I am horrible at planning things in DC and it didn't occur to us that Arlington may be closed because of the race or that we couldn't find the metro stop, we ended up walking to the Pentagon Metro - that is over 3 miles! Poor Becky - I guess what is 3 miles after 26.2.

Once we get on the metro we go home where Becky can shower. Than we all head downtown to my favorite restaurant - Matchbox! fun photos on the metro :)

When you come to DC we will go to Matchbox and you will love it!
After dinner we walked to the National Mall so Julie could see the Lincoln Monument at night. Again, I don't plan well and before we knew it, it was 11pm and the metro closes at 12am and if we were not back at Huntington by 12am Anthony's truck would be locked in there over night. I panicked and thankfully others are calmer and got us a cab back to Huntington with 30 minutes to spare!
