Check off of the bucket list - Cherry Blossom Festival in DC! It also so happened that the only weekend in a month span that we had no visitors, was the weekend that cherry blossoms were in full bloom!
We took the metro to Archives and started our adventure. First stop is the water fountain at the sculpture garden.
Next we walked to the National Mall. While the mall it torn up because of grass restoration (yep, that is your tax dollars at work), thankfully around the Washington Monument (my favorite monument) is perfect!
This is the first of about a hundred posts that will follow. We took a lot of photos and I want to document all the photos, therefore for the next week or so all the posts will be about this day when we walked over 7 miles enjoying all the cherry blossoms. And this is one of the many reasons I love DC, we get to experience so many things!
