We were so excited to host Thanksgiving this year! Tuf's parents were here, along with her friend, Christina, plus the 3 of us and our friends, Patrick, Melissa and Sarah. Princess was just as excited! Thawing all the butter we would use the next day!
The night before Thanksgiving Melissa so graciously cleaned the turkey.
On Thanksgiving morning I made gluten free lemon poppy seed pancakes from a Joy the Baker recipe and lemon syrup from a Martha Stewart recipe. These recipes have been a hit! I have made them an additional 2 more times. I would recommend cutting the syrup my half (at the least) - it is a lot of syrup.
Along with the pancakes, we had eggs, bacon (2 packages!), and mimosas!
Once breakfast was complete, it was time to start the dinner. Melissa back at turkey duty.
Our kitchen is super small, so the sisters peeled and cut the potatoes and sweet potatoes in our living room.
Thanksgiving dinner...eh, Anthony photo bombing it...
Dinner for 9 or 90...not sure. We had turkey, ham, rolls, potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes (2 types), olives, green bean casserole, cream corn, stuffing, pumpkin and cherry pie with homemade whip cream. All of this is gluten free (minus the cherry pie).
Smile everyone!
The boys doing all the clean up!
Photo time!

Oh Christina...
All the ladies!
The cousins with Patrick.
The cousins gave Patrick beard soap - so all the ladies are smelling his beard...not awkward at all.
Cheers!
Olive fingers!!
Thanksgiving was a lot of work, but it was so much fun! Yay for hosting a create Thanksgiving in DC after only being in the area for a little over a year. While DC is not our forever home, we have made some great friendships and friendships that I know I will always cherish.
