The Friday before Christmas, I Skyped with one of my dearest friends, Kathie. While on our 4 hour Skype date we exchanged Christmas gifts. She gave me an Idaho necklace! Love it! I didn't even know that they made these as necklaces but apparently everyone else did, because 2 other people thought about getting me this exact gift.
One of my favorite things to receive at Christmas time is Christmas cards - I love them and the ones that send photo cards, I display their picture all year long. When I lived alone it was on my frig, now that I share a house with the cousins I display the photos in my room and this year I have a stand up freezer that they are displayed on.
It has been a relatively warm winter (and I am not complaining), on Christmas Eve, the temp was in the mid 60's.
We first went to the Capitol to see the People's Christmas tree - this year the tree came from Alaska and was decorated by the school children in Alaska.
Our traditional goofy photo! Love my eyes!
Normal photo.
Next, we went to the White House Christmas Tree.
Say what?!?! A goofy photo and then a normal - that is so not us :)
The Idaho Tree at the White House.
For Christmas Eve dinner we ate at District Pi.
Then we came home, and had a drink while playing games.
I treasure the memories and traditions we are making in DC. Christmas Eve was always my grandma's holiday. A holiday where no matter what we were doing, we always were at GG's on Christmas Eve. Christmas is a holiday to go through without GG, but being with Tuf and Anthony for the 3rd straight year we have started our own traditions.
