February 2015

I am so proud of myself for trying to keep this blog updated, I am actually only writing this post 3 days into March. Though, I should note, that I will have guests for a month straight starting on the day this blog post will post, so while I have been blogging strong for about 5 months, that may come to an end for the month of April/May. Of course I will be back.

Okay, for everyday life in February.
 My ever growing jewelry wall.
I officially started a job with benefits and paid time off on February 2. While I am a huge supporter of minimalist, they go to an extreme, so I caved and brought in a couple photos from home. Our office space will be moving in April or May, so maybe at that time I will bring in more. But for now these photos make me smile and also make me miss Idaho. The back photo is a photo Bonni gave me after I came back from bereavement leave, it says, friends are the family you chose, the gang. That's so true. Those 6 people in that photo are like family to me, and I miss all of them so much. The front photo is a picture Alissa gave me as a goodbye gift.
Tuf brought home Georgetown cupcakes (the show was/is/I don't know, on TLC).
Oh Princess. She still loves her heating pad. And in February she went back on insulin :( Remission over :( I am however, hopeful that she could go into a 2nd remission when we get her sugar levels under control. Since I know what I am doing this time around it is not nearly as stressful. The vet told me, that she wished she could clone me for all owners with diabetic animals. I didn't bother to tell her my melt downs when Princess was first diagnosed with diabetes almost two years ago. Thankfully I don't mind needles and giving her the shot of insulin or testing her blood is easy  for both her and I. Disclaimer, by easy I don't mean it has always been that way. The first time I had to test Princess's blood, I cried, I thought I was going to have to put her to sleep because I couldn't test her blood all the time, but we stuck with it and I bruised both her ears, very bad the first time. Now that I have tested her blood at least a 100 times, we both are cool with it. And giving a shot to a cat is so easy, she doesn't even feel it, actually she is usually purring when I give it to her, because I am petting her.

Sometimes I wonder why her diabetes came back... not that eating ice cream helped. Man, she loves anything that is frozen. And to my credit this was the first time in at least a year she had any type of human food.

Just like human diabetes, Princess drinks a lot of water. Score for her that we have had to keep water running at night to prevent frozen pipes.
And just a random photo of dumb dumb (aka the guard dog, aka Dexter)
Now for the monthly photos of my adorable nieces and nephews.
