My Baby

And now I am finally at the catch up phase of this month long blog catch up phase and this entire post is just about my baby, Princess. Princess is now 15 years old and she is beginning to look old :( She is skinny and is a little lazier than she has been in the past, but I have faith that Princess will be here for another few years. I will be a mess when I Princess passes and for now I just have to enjoy all that she brings into my life.
Princess is addicted and I mean addicted to the laptop and it is all my fault. She loves YouTube videos on birds, cockroaches and just string - there is seriously a market for videos for cats on YouTube. The first three photos were taken over a span of one hour...
Video chatting with Marie and Princess is the creeper that listens when she isn't invited to the conversation.
Stretching is good!

Princess got a new toy - that I found in the trash, my grandma would be so proud of me and Princess loves this little "S" track, especially in the middle of the night.

Professional photos :)

She is perfect and I love her so much!

February 2015

I am so proud of myself for trying to keep this blog updated, I am actually only writing this post 3 days into March. Though, I should note, that I will have guests for a month straight starting on the day this blog post will post, so while I have been blogging strong for about 5 months, that may come to an end for the month of April/May. Of course I will be back.

Okay, for everyday life in February.
 My ever growing jewelry wall.
I officially started a job with benefits and paid time off on February 2. While I am a huge supporter of minimalist, they go to an extreme, so I caved and brought in a couple photos from home. Our office space will be moving in April or May, so maybe at that time I will bring in more. But for now these photos make me smile and also make me miss Idaho. The back photo is a photo Bonni gave me after I came back from bereavement leave, it says, friends are the family you chose, the gang. That's so true. Those 6 people in that photo are like family to me, and I miss all of them so much. The front photo is a picture Alissa gave me as a goodbye gift.
Tuf brought home Georgetown cupcakes (the show was/is/I don't know, on TLC).
Oh Princess. She still loves her heating pad. And in February she went back on insulin :( Remission over :( I am however, hopeful that she could go into a 2nd remission when we get her sugar levels under control. Since I know what I am doing this time around it is not nearly as stressful. The vet told me, that she wished she could clone me for all owners with diabetic animals. I didn't bother to tell her my melt downs when Princess was first diagnosed with diabetes almost two years ago. Thankfully I don't mind needles and giving her the shot of insulin or testing her blood is easy  for both her and I. Disclaimer, by easy I don't mean it has always been that way. The first time I had to test Princess's blood, I cried, I thought I was going to have to put her to sleep because I couldn't test her blood all the time, but we stuck with it and I bruised both her ears, very bad the first time. Now that I have tested her blood at least a 100 times, we both are cool with it. And giving a shot to a cat is so easy, she doesn't even feel it, actually she is usually purring when I give it to her, because I am petting her.

Sometimes I wonder why her diabetes came back... not that eating ice cream helped. Man, she loves anything that is frozen. And to my credit this was the first time in at least a year she had any type of human food.

Just like human diabetes, Princess drinks a lot of water. Score for her that we have had to keep water running at night to prevent frozen pipes.
And just a random photo of dumb dumb (aka the guard dog, aka Dexter)
Now for the monthly photos of my adorable nieces and nephews.

All Things Princess

Ready to see what Princess has been up to for the last 6 months!
First, lets go back to Idaho. Princess playing. Yes, she does play on occasion.
s
Princess had to go to the vet before we left. She got all her vaccinations, teeth cleaned, blood work and micro-chipped.

Princess absolutely loved going to Auntie Karin's. Princess always felt right at home and pretty much made Karin's house her vacation home. I love that Karin loved Princess as much as I love her and always took such good care of her. If I am honest with myself Karin actually took a lot better care of Princess than I do. We miss you Auntie Karin!
Oh how Princess "loves" wearing a collar!
Chillin at Stacy and Robert's.
Stretching out after being in a kennel for a week! Finally home in Alexandria, Virginia!
I'm too lazy to brush Princess, so I just give her the brush and she brushes herself.

Princess and Manny "cuddling". Manny sleeps upstairs with Princess and I on the weekends. They get along really well, even though they both really want to sleep on the Princess blanket, alone.

The best selfie ever!
Dexter really wants to just play with the kitty. Unfortunately, Dexter is just a little too big and hyper for Princess, so for now they are always separated by a gate. Princess is happy, Dexter is sad.
Princess in her old age, gets colder these days, so now she gets her very own heating pad!
A Friday night in November I was home alone with the animals, so I drug Princess downstairs. All the dogs but Pup-Pup and Manny were in the dinning room (where the other gate is at). Pup-Pup and Princess kept fighting over this spot on the couch, it was fun to watch because as soon as one moved the other would jump into the spot.
A selfie I sent to Tuf showing her that I was torturing her baby - the ever spoiled Pup-Pup
Princess and Anthony cuddling!
Princess is adjusting very well to her new life on the east coast with 5 dogs, 1 cat, 2 birds and 2 new humans. Oh who am I kidding, Princess just hangs out in my room all day, sleeping, staring out the window, and wondering when her next meal will be.She is a true Princess!
