After the Scottish Walk Parade we went to the United States Botanic Garden for their annual Season's Greeting Display.
Each year, the U.S. Botanic Garden creates one of the region's most delightful holiday exhibitions. This year there were 33 historic lighthouses along with trains traveling throughout the lighthouses.
The Garden Court is adorned with representations of the National Mall monuments and buildings crafted from more than 70 different plant materials. Each building is a unique masterpiece constructed on a frame of acrylic-based foam. Casting resin is poured into the window cutouts, wall surfaces are finished with sand-based grout and distinctive architectural details are fashioned from dried materials. Each building's complexity determines how long it will take to create. The representation of the U.S. Capitol took more than 600 hours.
GG and sunflowers.
One more event for this busy Saturday!
