Zach & Hay - March 16 - DC

On Thursday, March 16, we started the day by doing something I haven't done yet (which isn't much in this area), a Pentagon tour. No photos are obviously allowed. After the Pentagon tour we went into DC and ate lunch at one of Zach's favorite restaurants, Green Turtle.
Then we decided to walk over to the Capitol to see if we could get on a same day tour rather then waiting until our Saturday tour. In preparation for the inauguration DC had to finish all (or most of the visible) reconstruction around the Capitol. It is was nice to see the Capitol and the grounds free of scaffolding.

 Jumping photos - of course!

The rotunda is so beautiful!

After the Capitol  tour we used the underground walkway to go into the Library of Congress.
We didn't go in the Supreme Court but we walked to the steps of it. The blue sky was so beautiful!

Next we walked over to Union Station for Starbucks and to hop on the metro to go to Wheaton.
Why Wheaton? Remember in my last post and Hailey's obsession with long escalators? Well, this is the longest escalator in the northern hemisphere and it is located at the Wheaton metro station. The escalator and takes 2 minutes and 45 seconds to ride up or down it.

I absolutely love this photo!
