My last day in Idaho had arrived and I was going to make the most of it! I started the day by having breakfast with one of the most amazing people in my life, Barb! We went to the Egg Factory and then back to Barb's house. Over the last year, I have had many blog posts about Barb, but again I just want to emphasis how much I appreciate her and how loved I feel by her. I am beyond blessed that she loves me and I love her!
While in Boise I drove close to 600 miles in one week, because that is what you do in Boise - you drive, everywhere! In DC, I drive around 150 miles a month and now that I am walking more it will probably go down to 50 miles a month (but more of that to come in a future post). In Idaho I had to get a rental car, and while I wanted to get the Ford Edge (cause I love that SUV!), I listened to reason (aka Barb) and got the economy car, a little Hyundai Elantra, surprisingly it was a fun car to drive!
After visiting with Barb and Paul, I went over to Tonia's to catch up for about an hour. While it was a super short visit, I am so glad that I got to see Tonia. Tonia will always hold a special place in my heart - we had a lot fun in my mid 20's and she was my first friend at my first grown up job!
After Tonia's, I drove to the airport to drop off the rental car, with tears in my eyes because this meant that my trip was almost over. Kathy picked me up at the airport and we went to Cafe O'Le for dinner and Margaritas!

I like to taunt Kathie by buying her scanky underwear - just because it shocks her and I love her reaction. While in Delaware over Memorial Day, Tuf and I found a packet of thong underwear in a cupcake container. It also just so happens that we call Kathie, cupcake! So this gift was perfect! I brought it with me to give to her as a thank you for letting me stay at her home. And since Cafe O'Le is where we we started Kathie on this underwear adventure it only seemed appropriate to give her the thank you gift now. By total accident I handed Kathie the gift backwards and all she say was cupcake, but everyone at the table saw the word "thong". Once Kathie figured out what the gift was it was hilarious and I love Kathies facial expressions!
We all were laughing pretty hard, but poor Barb had tears!
After dinner we headed to downtown for the Night Glow with the hot air balloons. I was also able to briefly see my cousin Piper and her family, all of whom I have not seen in 2.5 years. It was a super short visit but so good to see them!
I realized that I didn't have individual photos with Barb & Paul and Tracy, good thing we were at the park together!
Early on Sunday morning I started my cross country flight back to DC. I had such a great time in Idaho. I will always remember that week. Everyone that I saw and got to hang out with, means so much to me. While I don't know when/if I will return to Idaho, I do know that Idaho is my home. But for now DC is my home:
And I have made some pretty awesome friends in DC. This was on my desk when I returned to work on Tuesday, by my dear friend, Gina.
