During the day on Saturday we went to the National Cathedral! Some facts on the cathedral:
- Denomination Episcopalian
- Neo-Gothic design
- 6th largest cathedral in the world and 2nd largest in the US
- 4th highest structure in Washington, DC
- Construction began on September 29, 1907 when a foundation stone was laid in the presence of President Theodore Roosevelt
- Construction ended 83 years later when President George Bush laid the final stone in 1990
- State funerals for 3 President have been held at the cathedral (Eisenhower, Reagan, Ford)
The earthquake did a lot of damage to many things in DC, including the Cathedral.
