Halloween

Halloween, not a holiday that I normally celebrate. While we live in a neighborhood and we carved pumpkins, we had decided that we were going to go out for dinner since we hadn't bought any candy. Well, we happened to be watching a movie when the first trick or treaters knocked on our door, so we scrambled for some candy that was in the guest room. Then we thought, hey we have candy in our cupboard...who cares that it was last years Christmas candy or Easter Cadbury Eggs, or fortune cookies from Panda Express, or suckers that came from Dallas. Laugh as you may, little kids loved the egg's and fortune cookies! Soon we were running out of candy, so we added things that Tuf has bought at Costco that we hadn't ate - such as applesauce and propel water and pineapple juice. And then we thought, what about our gluten free kids? So we added some gluten free snacks! We were a hit! The parents thanked us for the healthier  choices and loved the drink idea!
Our friend Melissa was also over and she did a fabulous job of passing out candy to the kids!

And maybe we thought all of this was a good idea because us girls had been enjoying our own adult candy...marshmallow flavored vodka (so good!). When we ran out of the flavored vodka we took a shot of the plain vodka (nasty!), we also took a shot of pumpkin spice Kahlua (nasty).
We finally made it to dinner around 9pm...we were very happy!
What a fun day with friends and family!

Halloween at Work

This was my second Halloween at work. I blogged about last years craziness here. This year I was more invested in what we did because I had known most of these people for a year and I loved our theme, Hunger Games!
This is our Comp Manager!
My boss as Effie! (Sorry for the sideways photos, I can't get them to turn) I also Effie's makeup (why people thought I could do makeup is beyond me, but it was fun to put clown makeup on my bosses face!).
Ah, another co-worker as a "career"
Katniss
The Capitol elite
Caesar interviewing a career (I gave the career a face tattoo).
Our designer for the Hunger Games.
All of us!
District 13
Yes, I totally wore a tutu and fake eyelashes! I loved every minute of it!!!

Martha and I showing off our "natural" eyelashes.
Capitol people like to PARTY!!!
Face tattoos brought to you by...me!
The office were decorated as the different districts.

From Peta's bakery (aka, Martha's husband's)
Martha sitting in the Game of Thornes chair - this was in another department.
This is the one day where the stuffy work environment is gone and the excitement happens all day long and no work is done. One of the best days at work!

Gettysburg

On Monday, October 26, Becky and I made a day trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - which is surprising only about an hour and a half from my house.
"The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War, the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion", Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address".  Taken from here.
The battle of Gettysburg was fought between July 1 - July 3, 1863.
Well hello there President Lincoln...

We opted to do the 2.5 hour bus tour and it was very informative. I had no idea how big Gettysburg is!
