Back in DC!
After an interesting ride home with an Uber driver we got about 5 hours of sleep and were back at the tourist stuff in DC. We were running a little behind schedule and dear metro offload us. But Kathie looks like a local riding the metro!
Therefore, we missed our tour of the Library of Congress. So, with frustration we stood in the line to the Capitol. The line was to the street and it was a downpour rain. After about 40 minutes we got inside the Capitol and I was hoping we could get tour tickets for later that day, but you can't. So we decided to go over to the Supreme Court a little early, just to make sure we didn't miss the tour.
We had a lovely time inside the Supreme Court. Next we made our way to The Library of Congress and did their tour. I hadn't done a Library tour yet, so I was super excited to go on the tour. It was fascinating!
After the Library tour we took the underground tunnel back to the Capitol to try and get a tour, but we missed the last tour! Thankfully, Kathie was able to go on a Capitol tour on Monday. When we left the Capitol for the second time it was another downpour. So, we took a cab to Union Station and headed home. Kathie was able to meet up with a former student for dinner. I stayed home and relaxed.
Kathie and I both have FitBit and we did a workweek challenge. I won by the skin of my teeth! 90,000 steps in 5 days is a lot of steps!
