Easter. Sunrise Service. Lincoln Memorial. I am not a morning person, but there is something about waking up on Easter morning and going to church outside, at the Lincoln Memorial, celebrating that the tomb is empty and watching the sunrise over the Washington Monument.
Melissa was kind enough to go to the Sunrise Service with me. We woke up around 5:15am and left my apartment around 6am and got to the Lincoln Memorial around 6:20am. We celebrated the resurrection of our Savior with about 6,000 of our closest friends :)
This was the 3rd time I had attended the Annual Sunrise Service, but this was the 40th Anniversary of this church doing the sunrise service - that is pretty amazing!
After the service, we walked to find some breakfast. It was a beautiful morning walking by Constitution Gardens.
We decided to go to Lincoln's Waffle House, but after seeing the line, we decided to try the Smith. But it was only 8am and The Smith was closed. So we went over to Dirty Habit and had a wonderful breakfast!
After breakfast we went to our respective homes and took naps. It was a nice Easter.
