Blind Whino

Part of my reasoning behind moving into the District was that now I would be able to do things in the District that are off the beaten path. I have done everything that people think DC is all about a few hundred times now is my time discover the city as a local. My friend, Stephanie also has a bucket list of things to do in DC, so we have decided to explore the city together. I am super excited about our adventures! Our first off the beaten path discovery is the Blind Whino in the Southwest part of DC. The Blind Whino was built in 1886 as a Baptist Church and now it is part of the Southwest Arts Club that is a venue for different events along with exhibiting local artists. I love the vibrant colors and unique design throughout the venue.

After looking around the Blind Whino, Stephanie, her friend and I went to a local coffee shop and then I decided to make the 2 mile walk home...and that walked just happen to include walking past the US Capitol (how cool is that!).
So much more of DC unbeaten path I have yet to discover!
