Bye April

Yay! April is over! While there was a lot of good that happens in April. In general I just look forward to May.
Spring time in DC is beautiful at times and other times super cold. I have already blogged about the beautiful weather and the cherry blossoms. So, on one particularly cold weekend, Melissa graciously trudged out to the 'burbs with me. We went to Chuy's (my fav) and then went to Carters for some baby clothes, and then over to Target, oh how we have missed Target. The District only has one Target and it is a baby Target and is always picked over - so the 'burbs have the normal big Targets with a great selection.
The weather one weekend in April was amazing! On Friday night I hosted my first happy hour on the roof (and didn't not take a single photo). It was a great group of my friends and we stayed outside until midnight (when the roof closes - learned that lesson that night). On Saturday I even worked outside in the courtyard. The courtyard is so peaceful with the giant fountain.
Another Saturday was colder and I had to work again - so I chilled at my neighborhood Starbucks for a couple hours. Isn't my Idaho laptop bag that Yesenia gave me - beautiful! I use it all the time!
The tulips outside my office building are so beautiful! I am absolutely in love with the tulips.

April is already a hard month with the anniversary of my grandma's death (year 5) and my dad's death (year 25), but then I did something that Mere doesn't do often and then Mere went crazy and now Mere is just learning to chill....and waiting to see what/if anything happens going forward.
April was also a very self reflective month. At work I attended a change agility workshop and while I think I can handle change fairly easy, I know myself and I know that it takes time. One of the assessment we did was the Myers Briggs assessment. I was so excited to take it - because I have no idea have I have gotten this far in my life and haven't taken it.
That's right I am an ESTJ. I said I was an ISTJ without knowing my results. And actually I am in the middle between an Extrovert and an Introvert. I can flip back and forth, depending on the situation - but the introvert in my does need time alone to regroup. However, when I read the description of an ESTJ - it fit me to a T! The definition of an ESTJ is "They are logical, orderly, and decisive. They readily create or support structures, schedules, and systems to achieve the tasks required of them and will, if allowed, do the same for others. Changing environments stimulates ESTJs to create a new order and system. They strongly dislike inefficiency and waste, and they will focus on organizing people and other resources as quickly as possible. They are good at including necessary details and at dealing with practical and realistic problems. ESTJs are orientated toward quick action and bottom-line results. This sometimes leads them to structure and plan the situation too quickly, and their practical orientation may make it hard for them to see possibilities different from their experience."
-Yep that's me!
I love self assessments, I would take them all day long if I could.

The constant in my lie is so beautiful!
Speaking of beautiful things, my niece and nephew are so amazing!
Come on May, be kinder to me.
