Day 2 in NYC! We were able to sleep in a little, like 8 am :) And then we hit the pavement running. Our hotel was in the heart of the city, which was super nice. So we walked over to Rockefeller Center and the famous ice skating rink was still open. Next we walked by the Sirus XM headquarters (per Marty) it was just a giant office building. And then we walked through Time Square to have breakfast at the Time Square diner. It is a tourist trap, but surprisingly it was really good. I had banana Nutella french toast - amazing!
Next we took the subway uptown to the 72nd entrance to Central Park with another performer. We just wanted to walk around and explore Central Park. We didn't have any timed tickets today, the only place we had tickets for was the Empire State Building and you can go to the Empire State Building at anytime.
This is the famous water fountain that is in 100's of movies - I had no idea, nor had I ever been there, but it was so cool to see it and I recently watched a movie and this fountain was in it and of course I thought - I've been there!
The Alice In Wonderland sculpture.
A sculpture for Hans Christina Andersen, a Dutch author who wrote many about a famous children's books like "The Ugly Duckling" and "The Little Mermaid".
People really do play checkers in Central Park!
We had fun riding the Central Park Carousel.
The Balto Statue.
Next up we walked to Trump Hotel. We went inside and relaxed for about 30 minutes.
Next we went to the Empire State Building!!
We really wanted pizza again, so we found another great little pizza place.
After dinner we went back to our hotel to grab our bags and then we walked to Penn Station - but still taking in the sites of NYC!
On the 9 pm train and we were all pretty tired.
Another successful trip to NYC in the books. I love this city!
