Idaho Day 3 & 4

On Monday, August 31, I did what most people do when they go on vacation. I went to the eye doctor, in Kuna. In all fairness I have been going to my eye doctor for 11 years and since you only go to the dentist once a year I figure I don't need to change my eye doctor. After the eye doctor I drove to MAF and got Becky and we got some DB! It was so nice to chat up with Bex and I am excited to spend more time with her when she comes to DC in October.
After coffee with Bex, Karin and I had lunch at Krung Thai and then I went into MAF. It was a little awkward to go into MAF as a visitor, but I quickly got over that after I started seeing people. I let my true loud personality out and the people just came to me! It was awesome I left MAF after 5:30pm that night and my checks hurt from all the smiling I did. I only got one photo, with the very special lady, Bev!
For the evening I went to Casey and Lisa's. On my bed Lisa had a guest letter for me that was hilarious, amazing candy and a free Dutch Bro's. It was perfect!
For dinner Lisa made my favorite dish, Pansit! Thank you Casey, Lisa and kiddos for making me so very welcome in your home. I had a wonderful time catching up and simply just hanging out and talking.
Tuesday, September 1, was a big day for me! I started the day by hanging out with my dear friend Karla at her new home! Being in Maryland I am reminded of Karla often as she grew up in this area.
Then I had lunch at Flatbread with another amazing friend Corinne.
After lunch I made my way over to Yogurtz for Fro Yo with the Duke's. Cristi and I use to go on cold dates, so it was perfect that we were able to get together while I was home.
I asked Twaan to take a picture of Cristi, Finn and I and just like Alyson Davids I got a lovely selfie of the person I asked to take the photo! But I love it!

After fro yo, I drove to Nampa and meet Chelsea for dinner at Costa Vida.
It was so great to hang out with Chels and catch up. We have been friends for so long and over the last few we had lost touch, but then in 2014 we reconnected and I am so excited that she is going to come visit me the first weekend in October. We are going to make some special memories in DC!
As I was dropping Chels off at home, the boys arrived so we were able to take some fun photo!
What a wonderful Tuesday I had at home!

Last Days at MAF

There are sometimes posts that I don't want to write and this is one of them. I love MAF. I love the people and I loved majority of my job (yes even the childcare). But over the summer there were a lot of tears shed. It started in June when I posted my job. Below is all the paperwork that goes into just getting a job posted.
It's crazy that this is the only picture I have from family conference this year. God totally got me when Alissa and I got dirty looks throughout Wal-Mart with buying all these chips, because I totally judged someone just a few days prior to this shopping adventure, who had soda stacked sky high in her cart. I titled this photo, What? We just like chips!" :)
Another behind the scenes look into HR, Personnel Change Notices (PCN's) - surprisingly Lithia's and MAF's were very similar. I wrote my own PCN to terminate me from MAF :(
All smiles going to my goodbye luncheon (Jessica, Alissa and Becky).
My goodbye lunch with all my HR peeps. After this lunch the tears started and didn't stop until hours later, when I was at Stacy's. There are many stories I could say about this group and many of them, that I have told on this blog for the last 4 years. But some of these people have truly been my strength for the last 4 months. I have grown closer than I could imagine to a few of them and two have even visited me. I am so beyond blessed to have had the pleasure and honor to work at MAF. MAF will always be with me.

Ladies Retreat

The last weekend in April I went on a Ladies Retreat for work. I was on the planning committee. How I got on the committee is beyond me, I am not a committee person. Anyways the weekend before we were suppose to go someone at work told Bonni that he was looking online at the cabin we use for all our retreats and we were not on their schedule. So, Bonni called the manager and sure enough we weren't on the calendar, even though we had booked the cabin a year ago. Well Bonni decided to be nice and we took two other cabins they had.

McCall is a beautiful area, I love this small central Idaho town. Our cabins were right on Payette  Lake.

Part of the lake was still frozen!
Our two cabins.

All or our meals were planned, but the best one was for Saturday night - Soto Ayam, which is an amazing Indonesian soup. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Indonesian food?
Bonni frying yummy Indonesian crackers.

Yeah, I pretty much rock at helping... :)
Yum, yum, yum!!!
We want food!
Some more beautiful photos from my balcony.

We may be coworkers, but above everything else we are friends and we cuddle while watching The Amazing Spider Man!
This is the perfect picture of what a retreat is all about...
On Sunday morning it was snowing!

All the lovely ladies. These photos are so fun with the snow falling...
I am so glad I went on this retreat! We did a video series by Beth Moore called Loving Well. It was amazing what God did in our hearts this weekend, it was just what I needed.

Around Work

Last week my cousin Ashley came into town for a quick trip. We were able to get together on Wednesday night for a wonderful dinner at Red Lobster and then some FroYo at Yogurtz. On Thursday, Ashley and her daughter, Liah came out to MAF for lunch at the Egg Factory. Then we went to the hangar where Liah go to see the planes. It was so great to see them. I haven't seen Ashley and Liah since October and I just love spending time with them.

And, well, I really have no where else to show these photos. We are doing a clothing fundraiser at work and well apparently Mike doesn't understand that there are boy clothes and girl clothes... Yeah that is all I have.
